Ski Holidays to Andorra
Tucked away in the Pyrenees between France and Spain is the Catalonian gem of Andorra. Spread over two ski areas, Grandvalira and Vallnord, there is over 300km of marked pistes as well as large areas of off-piste terrain on offer for Andorra ski holidays. Grandvalira is the largest skiable domain in the Pyrenees, bringing together ski resorts Pas de la Casa, Grau Roig, Soldeu, El Tarter, Canillo and Encamp. Vallnord is a more compact area made up of the linked areas of Arinsal and Pal with arguably the best skiing in Andorra in Arcalis.
Beginners and children alike will feel especially comfortable on your family ski holiday to Andorra as the ski school has a reputation for being one of the best in Europe for native speaking English instructors. There is also Bababoom Circus in El Tarter which is a fun activity play area for kids based on the slopes and Naturlandia, an eco-park full of adventure and animals that offers unique experiences in winter.
Andorra provides a welcome change to the Alps and is easier on the budget but still has some fantastic luxury accommodation options available. There is also the added bonus of a solid snow record, typically uncrowded pistes and the opportunity to experience some of the world’s best skiers and snowboarders compete in competitions such as the Freeride World Tour and for the first time, the FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup will be held in Andorra in 2019. Did we also mention you can easily access the duty-free shopping capital of Andorra and enjoy the thermal hot springs at Caldea, the largest of its kind in Europe with a separate area for kids?
