Spotlight: STASH Avoriaz
A blog from Seren...
The Portes du Soleil ski area is a haven for boarders, with 5 snowparks in Avoriaz alone. Avoriaz has become known as the place to be for boarders and just eleven years ago STASH was created in partnership with Burton Snowboards in the heart of the Lindarets forest in Avoriaz. STASH is the was the first ecological snow park in Europe and the Portes du Soleil ski area. It incorporates the idea of ‘freeride in the forest’ and since opening it has brought new energy to Avoriaz and introduced a new generation to snowparks. Avoriaz is ideal for your next France family ski holiday.
In 2014/15 Lil’STASH opened in Proclou. It is a dedicated snowpark for 4-14 year-olds, specifically adapted to their age. There is an array of modules made form a mixture of snow and wood including woops, snake run, mini boardercross, kicker size XS, an area for slides and boxes.
On powder days there is nowhere better if you are boarding with children you can enjoy yourself knowing that they are having fun in the heart of nature on secure terrain. The concept of STASH was to create somewhere where senior riders and their children can enjoy freestyle riding together. The park can be reached via the 6 seater high-speed Prolays chairlift with an Avoriaz lift-pass.
If you are interested in visiting Avoriaz, Destination Ski can help you book your next France ski holiday. The fully pedestrianised, ski-in-ski-out resort of Avoriaz is situated in the heart of the Portes du Soleil ski area. Avoriaz is a resort where children can go sledging through the middle of the village and you can take a horse-drawn carriage back to your accommodation. All this on top of STASH makes for a fantastic family ski holiday. Voted the Best Family Resort in 2013, Avoriaz doesn't require you to catch a bus to the slopes, simply ski from your front door. With dedicated children's ski schools, this is the perfect resort for your next family ski holiday to France.
